I think that there are two factors behind Nancy Pelosi’s eruption of indignation at Robert Gibbs:
1. She may have been right that Gibbs’ comments might have been a damper on Democratic donors in the upcoming midterms – and the prospect of that frightens her.
2. She has become accustomed to power in her role as Speaker of the House – and the prospect of her losing power is frightening to her.
