I would really like to go to school to become a medical esthetician to be able to do botox?
and more of the high end skincare procedures, but I am not sure what type of school to go to. If I go a beauty school, I am concerned I will not be qualified to do these things. Would I need to go to a nursing school, or how do I get into that field? I can’t seem to find a definitive answer out there.
Generally botox is done by dermatologists/ doctors. Botox is a neurotoxin and highly regulated, and people can’t just take a course to administer it. You’re looking at med school + specializing in dermatology.
For other things, like laser hair removal there are courses.
Nursing has nothing to do with either of these fields, unless you become a nurse first and then go work in a clinic- which I believe requires a bachelors degree as well (at least here it does, not sure elsewhere)
