I wear an anti-aging foundation that soap and water won't remove from my brush. What can I use?
I think it must contain silicone or someone kind of wrinkle-filler that is water resistant. I’ve tried alcohol without luck, too.

yikes! some makeup companies make a makeup remover to go along with their foundations because of the ingredients used to create the formula… that might do the trick. alternatly go out and purchase a brush cleaner from, say, MAC or somewhere of the likes. i use the mac cleaner and it works very well for me.
WOW first never use straight alcohol on the brushes. They are expensive and the alcohol breaks down the glue holding the bristles in place and you brush will die a premature death. The M.A.C. brush shampoo works well. I found one made by Bare Escentuals that I actually like better. It’s called well cared for. What you do is run the brush under warm water and place about the size of a dime in you hand. With the wet brush start swirling the brush into the shampoo until a lather forms. Then gently massage the shampoo through the bristles making sure it all coated. Then rinse out and ring out all the excess and lay flat to dry on a paper towel over night. Never soak your brushes in it never leave them in a cup to dry again this breaks down the glue and your brushes will not survive long. This should be done at least twice a month. Hope this helps thats what I do for my brushes and I have had them for years. Here is a link. You can find it at Sephora as well if you don’t have a Bare Escentuals store near by.
