Dermal Fillers Eyebrows

Need advice on: Dermal fillers, Botox, frown lines? (Las Vegas)?

My cousin is looking to get ‘dermal fillers’ injected into the frown lines between her eyebrows and on her forehead.

My understanding is that ‘dermal fillers’ can be semi-permanent; and that botox isn’t.

Has anyone out here tried the various dermal fillers? Did they work? I’ve heard that they are known to ‘travel’…

Would be especially interested in helping her find CONSERVATIVE doctors in Las Vegas… one clinic told her to consider cutting the muscles that cause her to frown. A bit much…

Costs involved?

I specialize in the administration of Botox and dermal fillers. To be honest, Botox is the best way forward to deal with wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyes and also for crows feet around the eyes. Fillers are best used for the lines from nose down to corners of the mouth, (naso-labial lines), corners of the mouth down to the chin, (oral commissures) and lip and cheek plumping etc; The Botox relaxes the muscles and therefore prevents the person from being able to produce the frown lines, softening any existing wrinkles and preventing the formation of new ones. After injection, the person must exercise the injected muscles by frowning, smiling etc; for 1 hour to get the best effect. They must not lie down or bend excessively for 4 hours. If they do, this is when the Botox can ‘travel’ to areas of the muscle you don’t want it to reach. There’s much more post-injection advice, but this would be given to the person on the day, both verbally and in advice sheet form. It isn’t permenant. It lasts about 3 to 4 months on 1st use and lasts a bit longer each time after until you may get a maximum of 6 months. Dermal fillers are not permenant either and depending upon which product is used, they all last different lengths of time. Implantable fillers done under the scalpel have been known to travel, but injectable fillers, ie. normal dermal fillers, stay where they have been injected and massaged. I practise in the UK, so I’m afraid I can’t advise you about the cost in LA.
